“Throughout the city, over the past few weeks, there have been numerous burglaries to vehicles. Many people and entire neighborhoods have been negatively affected by this rash of crime. The majority of the burglaries have occurred during the night, and items stolen include: purses, wallets, backpacks, handguns, cash, and a variety of electronics. In some of the cases nothing was taken, however the vehicle was notably ransacked, and in 99% of the cases, the vehicle had been left unlocked. Please do not hesitate to call Bartow Police Department at 863-534-5034 to report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood or workplace. One seemingly insignificant detail could prove crucial to detectives. And most importantly, remove valuables, roll up windows and lock and secure your vehicle.”
