Old Eagle Lake-Winter Haven Road Remains Closed until Friday Afternoon
Bartow, Fla. (July 17, 2018) —Polk County will keep Old Eagle Lake-Winter Haven Road in southwest Winter Haven closed until Friday, two days later than planned, so crews can finish repairing pavement settlement problems related to mucky soils below the road. Old Eagle Lake-Winter Haven Road is expected to reopen Friday afternoon shortly after paving the rebuilt segment of the roadway.
Southbound through traffic will continue to be detoured at Lake Shipp Drive, while northbound traffic will be detoured at State Road 540. Motorists are still advised to drive with caution, follow detour signs and allow for extra time for trips through this area.
